I was thinking about a verse in Malachi chapter 3 in (oblique) reference to a talk I am giving next week.
"Bring ye all the tithes into the storehouse, that there may be meat in my house, and prove me now herewith, saith the Lord of hosts, if I will not open you the windows of heaven, and pour you out a blessing, that there shall not be room enough to receive it." -- v 10
I usually think of this on a personal level. I pay tithing = I get blessings. Some are temporal blessings, and others are not.
What if it is on a world level? What if, because tithing has been re-instituted, there are blessings happening in the world that we don't have room to receive? Advances in technology happen at a whirlwind pace and we literally do not have room in our home to have all that is available. The work that I have been doing in family history is to a point where it would take me years at my current speed to complete the temple ordinances. I have to share that wealth because there is not room in my "house" to accomplish it.
The windows of heaven have been thrown open. Blessings in this day are pouring out.
